ACSA’s Response to California’s Master Plan for Career Education

In August, Governor Gavin Newsom announced his executive order establishing a “Master Plan for Career Education” to strengthen career pathways and prioritize hands-on learning and real-life skills. On November 30, ACSA released its response to Newsom’s executive order calling for the following:

  • Streamlining current grant programs and funding streams;
  • Linking adult education and other concurrent state initiatives regarding workforce development;
  • Addressing career and technical education (CTE) teacher staffing and credentialing issues; and
  • Prioritizing at-promise students.
