After months of tracking the slowing economy and its potential impact on schools, ACSA commends the California governor and Legislature for adopting a budget that largely protects public education.
Fully funding the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) was a top priority for ACSA. We know robust and flexible funding is critical to meeting the diverse needs of local school communities. We are happy to see the 8.22 percent statutory COLA was applied to the LCFF, as well as other important programs including special education, adult education and state preschool. We are also pleased to see the increased investments in county offices of education, as their important responsibilities continue to expand.
