Antelope Valley student gets inspiration from family

July 20, 2021

ACSA Region 15 Every Student Succeeding recipient Angel Barnes' life changed on July 3, 2018. Angel's sister, her sister's fiance and her two nieces died in a collision in Palmdale. While Angel grieved, she also decided that the memory of her family members would serve as inspiration. "I have to graduate for them," Angel said. "I have to do what I need to do for them." Her Quartz Hill High School community has helped her along the way, especially her IEP case carrier, who she said "helps her through everything."
