April 5, 2017
In this roundtable, Sonja Lowery, Tara Bianchi, and Edgar Lampkin Ed.D. sat down with ACSA Diversity and Equal Access Executive Nicole Anderson to discuss the challenges educators face in addressing critical gaps in supports and mindsets in order to provide equitable schooling for all students. The roundtable addresses some of the successes and challenges each educator has faced in their career, addresses the need for educator professional development and equity as a focus that can ultimately strengthen teacher-student relationships. Gaps addressed include not only the Achievement Gap but also Opportunity Gaps and Support Gaps. The Association of California School Administrators is the largest umbrella organization for school leaders in the United States, serving more than 17,000 California educators. ACSA's top priority is advocating for public school students in kindergarten through grade 12, as well as adult learners. Our mission is to be the driving force of education in California and beyond. “We serve educational leaders in the pursuit of equity and excellence to meet the diverse needs of all California students.”
